Getting started

Good Contact is on the App Store for iPhone and Mac. Just download the app, open it, and sign in with your Apple ID to create your account.
Good Contact requires iOS 17 or later (iPhone/iPad) or macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later. The app is built with SwiftUI for a native experience on all Apple platforms.
Yes! The free tier includes all core features: up to 25 active contacts, relationship tracking, recurring reminders, biometric unlock, Apple Contacts sync, and import/export. Premium adds unlimited active contacts, engagement plans, iCloud sync, AI features, and more. Both Premium plans include a 14-day free trial.
Select multiple contacts, tap Edit Selected, and apply changes in bulk: update status, relationship type, or tags, and create staggered recurring reminders across all of them at once. It's the fastest way to get set up when you first import your contacts.

Privacy & security

Your contacts are stored locally on your device, protected by Apple’s Data Protection, the same on-device encryption that secures Mail, Photos, and Messages. The keys are managed by your device, not by us. CSV exports are plaintext files. Treat them like any sensitive document.
No. Your contacts never live on our servers. Only your account profile and subscription state do. With iCloud sync (Premium), data syncs through your private CloudKit database in your own iCloud account, accessible only to your authenticated Apple devices.
We practice data minimization, store data locally first, give you complete control over your data, and never sell or share your information. You can export most of your data or delete all your data at any time.
It depends on the data. To run your account and subscription, we always collect some essential information (your profile, subscription status, app settings, and contact counts), regardless of your analytics setting. On top of that, optional analytics, such as basic usage statistics and crash reports (processed by Sentry with all personal info scrubbed), are only collected if you opt in, and you can turn them off anytime in Settings → Privacy. Your actual contact data (names, emails, phone numbers, and notes) is never collected either way. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Features

The free version includes core features: up to 25 active contacts, relationship tracking, recurring reminders, biometric unlock, Apple Contacts sync, and import/export. Premium adds unlimited active contacts, engagement plans, calendar integration, iCloud sync, and AI features. Both plans include a 14-day free trial. See our Pricing page for a detailed comparison.
iCloud sync (Premium) keeps your data in sync across all your Apple devices through your own private CloudKit database in your iCloud account. Apple encrypts CloudKit data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Good Contact's servers are never in the data path, and automatic conflict resolution ensures consistency.
Absolutely! Good Contact is local-first and works perfectly offline. All your data is stored locally on your device. iCloud sync is optional and only syncs when you have an internet connection.
Set custom reminders for each contact with flexible recurring intervals: weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, biannual, or yearly, available to all users. Good Contact integrates with system notifications and your Calendar app to remind you to reach out and maintain relationships.
Yes! Good Contact supports importing from vCard (VCF) and CSV files. You can import individual contacts or batch import multiple contacts at once. Imported contacts arrive as Inactive so you can triage them. You can also sync with Apple Contacts whenever you like. It’s free for everyone and pull-only (a preview-and-apply sync you trigger yourself, with no continuous background syncing).
Point your iPhone camera at a business card and Good Contact uses OCR to automatically fill in the name, email, phone number, company, and job title. No manual typing required. Just scan and save.
Engagement plans are structured 8-step programs spread across 12 months. Choose between “Build Relationship” or “Deepen Relationship”. Each step is a suggested activity (call, coffee, meal, etc.) tailored to the relationship type, and you can customise activities and intervals before starting. Engagement plans are a Premium feature.
Every active contact gets a health score (0–100) based on how recently and frequently you've interacted. Contacts are flagged as “at risk” when they go too long without engagement, so you always know which relationships need attention.
The Insights dashboard (Premium) gives you a bird's-eye view of your network: overall health score, activity streaks, at-risk contacts, weekly engagement charts, and your most-engaged relationships. It helps you understand how your network is doing at a glance.

Technical

Good Contact relies on Apple's own privacy stack: Apple’s Data Protection for on-device encryption (the same system used by Mail, Photos, and Messages), and CloudKit for sync (encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256). CSV exports are produced as plaintext files, so treat them like any sensitive document. Authentication is via Sign in with Apple. We never see, store, or transmit a password.
Your contact data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync (Premium), it also syncs to your own private CloudKit database in your iCloud account. Your account profile (name, email, country, company, industry) and subscription state are stored on our server. No contact data is ever stored on our server.
Yes! Export your contacts as vCard or CSV files. You can export individual contacts or all contacts at once. You always own your data and can take it with you.
Sign in to Good Contact uses Sign in with Apple, so account recovery follows Apple's standard process. If you lose access to your Apple ID, you'll need to recover it through Apple. Once you can sign in again, your contacts will be available on any of your authenticated devices via iCloud sync (Premium).

Billing & Premium

Yes. Both the Monthly and Yearly Premium plans include a 14-day free trial. You get full access to every Premium feature: unlimited contacts, engagement plans, insights, iCloud sync, and more. You won't be charged until the trial ends.
Premium starts at US$9.99/month or US$89.99/year. Prices vary by region and are set by the App Store in your local currency. Both plans include a 14-day free trial so you can try every feature before you're charged. See our Pricing page for full details.
You can upgrade directly from within the app. Go to Settings and look for the Premium subscription option. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID.
Yes! Premium is a subscription that you can cancel at any time through your Apple ID account settings. If you cancel, you'll keep Premium features until the end of your billing period, then revert to the free version. Your local data is never affected.
Premium subscriptions are handled through the App Store, supporting all payment methods available in your region including credit cards, Apple Pay, and App Store gift cards.

Troubleshooting

Ensure you're signed into the same iCloud account on all devices, have Premium enabled, and are connected to the internet. Check that iCloud Drive is enabled in your device settings. Sync can take a few minutes initially. Note: the app requires a restart after enabling or disabling sync.
Good Contact doesn't have a single “reset” button. Two options in Settings cover it, depending on how far you want to go. To clear your data but keep your account, use Settings → Account → Clear All Contacts: this permanently removes all contacts, reminders, activities, and tags from this device (and from iCloud, if sync is on), while keeping your settings and premium features. To remove everything, use Settings → Account → Delete Account: this permanently deletes your account and all data, including anything synced to iCloud, and asks you to type DELETE to confirm (your subscription stays on your Apple ID and can be restored later). Both actions are permanent and cannot be undone, so export your contacts first (Settings → More → Data Management → Export Contacts) if you want to keep a copy.
When you delete your account, or choose “Disable Sync & Delete iCloud Data” in Settings, Good Contact asks Apple’s CloudKit to remove your synced contacts from your private iCloud database. Because that data lives in your own iCloud account and is removed by Apple’s sync system, this is done on a best-effort basis: it depends on your network connection and Apple’s servers, and for a very large contact database (or if your device is offline) removal may be delayed or incomplete. You can always remove Good Contact’s iCloud data yourself, independently of the app: on iPhone/iPad go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Good Contact → Delete Data from iCloud; on Mac go to System Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage… → Good Contact. This removes the synced copy from Apple’s servers across all your devices (menu labels vary slightly by iOS/macOS version). See our Privacy Policy for details.
